Being a Privateer Press miniature, Alexia was the first non-GW mini I have painted, and it was very pleasant to paint something with a different style. After hearing about Weisern's crazy idea of paying homage to Poupee Canope's Yshaelle l'Oubliee by attempting to copy it EXACTLY (!), I was inspired to choose a colour scheme similarly inspired by the great work. Although much more loosely inspired than Weisern's, to say the least! Painting the purplish/lilac cloak was the most enjoyable part, as this was a colour I had rarely used - the cloak was also the most successful part of the miniature I think.

The base wasn't a complete success - the 'red twigs', as Weisern calls them, were really meant to be the metal lattice reinforcing from inside the slabs of concrete, but somewhere along the way this idea went slightly wrong!
