Painting time: ~24hrs.
I painted this Belisarius clone, and the neuromancer, for Weisern and his Alchemists of Dirz - in return for a sackload of miniatures, resin bases etc! This model took around 22 hours to paint, plus another couple of hours for the base.
This was my first proper attempt at NMM - I had tried it before on a GW marine... but that marine will never be spoken of again! Ahem. In order to place the light reflections on the armour, I closely studied the photo of the Rackham version, and trying to copy the way its reflections were placed helped me greatly in learning to use this technique - it was good practice, especially on the back side where I was on my own!
I mixed some blue and purple into the greys used on the armour, to try and give it a more unnatural look - although in the end this wasn't really noticeable. I started with a mid-to-dark grey colour, which was shaded with a thin mix of red and black, ie. a very dark reddish brown, close to black. Then highlighted with lighter greys and with a final sparkle of white.
