Painting time: 21hrs 50min.
This is a limited edition mini available to CORD members. I got mine as part of a UKCORD member. The base is a forest resin base by Micro Art Studios.
For this mini, I tried out Jo Sonja's 'stroke and blend' medium. Be careful, as it makes the surface still slightly active after 24 hours. You can still use a wet brush and re-animate some of the highlights. The stroke and blend dries matte. Although it helped a little with the highlights, my highlights are still not as smooth as the guild master's. Thin brush strokes are evident.
I had 3 photos of Emanuele's Syd in front of me when I did Erhÿl. Mostly as a constant reminder to not finish parts off too quickly, to do more highlights, add more atmosphere, etc. It worked, as I did not rush as much.
The purple is a bit too dominant. I tried to reduce that by shading dark blue into some of the darker folds of the cloth. The dark brown armour has some jade colour. It glows in parts and not others. I don't know what it's meant to represent. The dark brown was too strong (same problem as the purple) and I had to break it up a bit with the jade colour. Her right eye is not as lively as her left, even after I tried to paint it white again, unsuccessfully. The cladding on the bow is the same colour as the dagger but its hard to differentiate from the bow.
This was Erhÿl before I added the dark blue in the folds, and mudstains on the dress. I was tempted not to stain the dress due to the work effort on the highlights.
