Gandalf - The Bridge of Khazad-dûm

My third GD entry from Europe - Gandalf! He was the one that I had to really zoom with hehe...I had some panic painting in the last 2/2.5 days before I left, then did a bit more in my hotel room in Cairo, then finished him off in the kitchen of the hostel in Nottingham the nights before GD, with some advice from the spanish guys.

I love Karaikal's version of this mini, and I had one of my own - so I thought, why not try to paint my own version! So in some ways it is a tribute to him I guess, haha.

Rather than having an actual ground source for the orange-red lighting, as David has on his base with the lava, I decided to be a bit more faithful to the movie. So I tried to give the sense of a faint orange-red fiery glow as the quite dark, ambient lighting, contrasted against the very intense, bright, cold light coming from the top of Gandalf's staff. THis also meant that I could have Gandalf standing on a segment of the Bridge of Khazad-dum! hehe
