Sentinel of Danakil

Painting time: 24.5hrs.

The mini is mounted on a resin base from Micro Art Studio's Mystic bases range. Finally after 2 or so months the sentinel is finished. I was painting this at the same time a friend of mine, Mark Carlisle, was painting his sentinel. As we only continued painting when we met during our weekly painting sessions, the project could not be rushed. We chose the same colour scheme, but different sentinel variants and base variants.

I was a bit more patient with the NMM and took my time, instead of rushing, due to these painting sessions with Mark. It's still not perfectly smooth in some areas, but I am content for now. Mark and I had Sebastian's Belisarius and Neuromancer in front of us while we painted away, trying to better our standards.

Our photography setup is not quite perfect either, so consequently some shine from the light bulbs has shown up on the matte surface. This is more noticeable on Mark's sentinel.

The top inner robes' colour choice was a bit disastrous in my opinion. GW warlock purple to VMC cork brown. What was I thinking?!? VMC deck tan was a lovely colour to work with for the lines on the back of the cloak.
